SAYVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
June 17, 2020
To: The Sayville Schools Community
Dear Neighbors, Friends and Colleagues,
First and foremost, I want to say thank you for all of the support you provide our schools each day. As you may know, our school budget for the 2020-2021 school year passed last night. This is a very real example of how our community supports quality education for all of Sayville’s children. It reflects our community’s deeply held conviction that our children are our most precious natural resource and the most certain hope of a better future for all of us.
This budget provides the resources our teachers, administrators and staff will need to run safe and healthy schools conducive to learning. We do not know what September will bring, but, I can assure you that the educators, staff, Board of Education and I will do our utmost to provide the best instruction possible in spite of the demands we face due to the pandemic crisis.
As the eventful 2019/2020 school year ends, I wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy summer vacation. We will be seeking input from our entire school community as we develop plans to reopen school as soon as the Governor permits. Please look for regular updates concerning these plans as we move through the summer.
Dr. Stimmel Superintendent of Schools
