Shaved Heads Warm Hearts

  • Approximately 53 heads bowed for a shave at the recent Sayville High School St. Baldrick's event, sponsored by the Junior class.  While each shaved head from the volunteer students, staff, and family members may have felt a bit cooler than before, everyone experienced a special warmth that comes from doing a good deed.

And all those shaved heads can proudly raise them high. Thanks to the generosity of those who participated, about $6,559  was collected for this worthy cause.  Extra special thanks go to the barbers from Mr. Nick's who offered their assistance, time, and talent to ensure customer satisfaction.

Congratulations to the Junior class and Fundraiser organizer Julie Sergison, for encouraging members in the Sayville Community to be heroes for kids with cancer!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
