Back in September at Lincoln Avenue, Mr. Garrett Campbell's Fifth graders began working on the long-term Book Buddy project with Mrs. Kate Enea's Second graders. Their goal was to finish these creative-writing projects by spring.
During the Fall, the students wrote and finished illustrating their original stories on paper, so that by Winter, the Book Buddies project could shift into the next phase and a different medium—technology. Recreating their stories in MovieMaker and Photo Story image-editing/design programs, the students’ learned to narrate their stories as well as choose music and animation schemes!
At last, during a recent event, many Lincoln family members were invited to the Lincoln cafeteria, along with Sayville School Superintendent Dr. Walter Schartner, Instructional & Information Technology Coordinator Barbara Hall, and Lincoln Avenue Principal Dr. Michele LeBlanc, to celebrate the completion of the Book Buddies projects. Guests enjoyed refreshments while viewing the entertaining and impressive final projects that were presented by the very animated student/authors!
