Music set an uplifting tone for the commencement. The ceremonies officially opened with the National Anthem, sung in splendid harmony by the Senior members of the Sayville High School Jazz Choir: Tessa Buono, Ryan Burgan, Kassandra Golka, Doug Kenny, Rachel Klahn, Deanna Lumley, Alexis Minogue, Angharad Rebholz, Amanda Rizzo, and Harrison Schenkel, assisted by Junior James Harlin.

Later, the vocal selection, "Astonishing," from the musical Little Women, was performed by the amazing Alexis Minogue (left), an All-State Vocalist, whose outstanding high-school music career earned her the Patricia Ann Kubelle Memorial Vocal Music Award.
