Lincoln Ave Moving Up

  • Lincoln Avenue's  Moving-Up was held on June 23 at 9:30 am

    At their Moving-Up Ceremony, Lincoln Avenue Fifth-graders received recognition and awards for all their outstanding accomplishments.

     

    During her address, Lincoln Avenue Principal Mrs. Gunther, proudly remarked how this Fifth-grade, “earned the highest achievement, higher than any other Fifth-grade class as measured by the Fifth- grade social studies test, the state English language arts test, and the state math exam, with 99% of the students or more scoring at the proficient level with many scores at the highest level score of 4.”

    After recognizing the many Lincoln Avenue families who were making their BIG MOVE away with the students moving up, Mrs. Gunther recited a cleverly paraphrased ABC’s of Growing Up, which included messages such as “Never give up, Open your mind, Plant miracle seeds…” In conclusion, Mrs. Gunther, who became principal when the children entered kindergarten, expressed how “incredible” it was “to observe the metamorphosis associated with [the students’ maturity]…it is very difficult to give this fine group up, yet, I am so very proud.”
