During the recent 2008 Induction, the Sayville High School chapter of the National Honor Society installed new members with the traditional candle-lit ceremony;

Pledging to "maintain high scholastic standing, to hold as fundamental and worthy an untarnished character, to endeavor intelligently and courageously to be a leader, to give of oneself freely in the service to others," the latest inductees promised to continue to prove themselves worthy of their place in the National Honor Society.
