Sayville Student artworks converted to Billboards

  • Congratulations to Art Department faculty member Bobbie Dalpiaz and her former Mixed Media Art students Angela Fattarusso (Class of ’09) and Deanna Esposito (Class of ’07). Both Angela and Deanna focused their designs on the idea of UNITY, and their works were selected for inclusion in the Embracing Our Differences-Long Island project.

The project, sponsored by The Suffolk Center on the Holocaust, Diversity & Human Understanding, the Town of Huntington, and Suffolk Community College, selected 35 artworks from almost 200 submissions and enlarged them to 16 x 12 foot billboards. To promote the Suffolk Center’s objective of building a better community by reinforcing values that respect human dignity and foster freedom, these billboards were displayed during the month of October at Heckscher Park in Huntington Village. At a park ceremony in October, the Sayville students were honored, and the entire project was also featured in a News 12 report.
