Breaks Naval Academy's All-Time LAX Records
Sayville Class of 2009 Alumna Jasmine Stoll DePompeo, who recently graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland with a bachelor degree in Political Science and a concentration in American Politics and law, was commissioned upon graduation into the United States Navy. Ensign DePompeo's service selection is in Meteorology & Oceanography (METOC). At present she is in Gulfport, Mississippi; and upon graduation from METOC, Jasmine will be assigned to Norfolk Virginia Naval Base.
While at the naval academy Jasmine participated on the Women's Lacrosse team, acting as captain during the 2013 season, helping her team to the second round of the NCAA playoffs, and a final team ranking of 12th in the nation.
Jasmine led the nation in points (127) and assists (71) during her senior season. To date, Jasmine is third all-time in NCAA history for assists, is the all-time leading scorer in Patriot League history for total points and assists, and is the Naval Academy's all-time leader in points and assists as well.
During her four years at the Academy, Jasmine was a THREE-time 1st team All-Patriot League, THREE-time Patriot-League Player of the Year, TWO-time Patriot-League tournament MVP, TWO-time COSIDA Academic All-American, TWO-time Womanslax.com All-American, IWICA All-American 2013, winner of the Thompson Cup at the Naval academy for most outstanding athlete, and recently received the NCAA post graduate scholarship.
During her graduation ceremony, Jasmine was photographed shaking hands with President Obama.
