Fundations
  • What is Fundations?

    Fundations
is a phonological/phonemic awareness, phonics and spelling program for the general education classroom. It is the program that has been adopted by Sayville Schools to promote spelling and reading fluency for students in grades K through 2.

K-2 students participate in whole group presentations of daily Fundations lessons. Fundations lessons focus on carefully sequenced skills that include print knowledge, alphabet awareness, phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, fluency, and spelling.  Targeted small group intervention is available for students who require additional assistance with phonics and/or spelling.
