Sayville High School Model UNITED NATIONS Club Garners Awards

“Sayville’s Model United Nations Club had a lot to be thankful for this year,” said LynnAnn Perlin, Social Studies teacher and Model UN Advisor.  During the two-day Patchogue-Medford Model United-Nations Conference, held on November 16 through 17, the Sayville Model UN Club participated in debates focusing on topics ranging from journalist safety, internet freedom to terrorism, and climate change. “Senior Harrison Bench won Best Delegate representing Tunisia in the African Union and Sophomore Vincent Vertuccio won Honorable Mention representing the United States of America in the Human Rights Council.” While Ms. Perlin was thrilled for her award-winning Model UN members, she was equally proud of all her students who worked hard and contributed positively to the conference.
