AHO Members Send Cheer to Residents in Nursing Home

  • "The students involved in Athletes Helping Others have fostered a relationship with the residents at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Sayville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AHO members have been unable to visit the residents. In place of a visit, the students recently created posters to spread some needed cheer. Thank you to all of the members who went the extra mile to bring some cheer to those in need."

Expressing Appreciation to Another Sayville Group Working Behind the Scenes

  • Admin Bldg

Special thanks go to the unsung heroes—behind the scenes—within Sayville School district among our administrators, business office personnel, clerical, tech department, custodial and grounds crew, as well as faculty and staff. “The magnitude of the work to continue educating our students” during this pandemic outbreak involves many school district personnel working in shifts to keep the flow of business, to maintain the internet connectivity of the district server, and to sanitize our buildings. Devoted personnel spent work days and weekends keeping you informed and preparing the Chromebooks and instructional materials for distribution. To all involved in these endeavors, Sayville thanks you.

  • The Dibble family recently wrote to Cherry Avenue teacher Mrs. Denton about their family projects to help others: "Since we live near the nursing home in Sayville. The residents aren’t allowed visitors at this time. So Madison thought it would be nice to make flowers out of magazine and a card to bring over to them. We will work during the week and bring them later on. Hope you have a great day!"🌈-Jennifer Dibble

    Acts of Kindness and Positvity

  • "Logan has such a big heart and I hope his messages got to people that loved them as much as his sister loved the stone that she found. I wonder if she found one of Kyla's stones?! Love the giving and the decorating of the cupcakes for dad....so very thoughtful! We need more of this at this challenging time"  - Karen Savage

    Part 1

This week I worked on some posters and some small cards that can be left around town for people to find. I painted them rainbow colors and wrote sayings on them to make people smile. I also added at the bottom #pass on the message. I used watercolor paints and small cards that my grandfather brought over to our house as he was cleaning out all his art supplies. I hope these little things bring a smile to someone out walking. I thought of this because my sister came home after finding a rock on her walk that someone painted.  I also did something else and that was help my sister make cupcakes for my dad’s birthday. He was supposed to have a party to celebrate him turning 50 but because we are stuck at home we had to make it fun. Here is a picture of how we decorated the cupcakes to make him laugh.Logan Maha
