Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
-
Everyone, at one time or another, deals with a variety of changes, adjustments and stressors, and it can be a bit overwhelming to say the least. We have all felt it. Besides our professional lives, we all have personal lives that we are trying to balance. Some days, it can seem like too much. It is easy to say we should practice self-care, but it is not always realistic. Sometimes, we just need to talk to or vent to someone without fear of judgment.
With this in mind, please remember that the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is just a phone call away. If you need support, please call 631-289-0480. EAP is completely confidential! Our district representative at EAP, is Gena Marino. You can call her at the number above or email her at gemarino@esboces.org. We also invite you to visit the Eastern Suffolk BOCES EAP page which has several videos and Power Points that have been created to offer help and assistance. In fact, there is a presentation entitiled, "When is EAP right for me?" in case you are hesitant about contacting them. You can find the website here: EAP Website
Below, are three resources that others have found helpful to reduce stress in addition to understanding what is going on in their minds and bodies:

Video/Speaker on Understanding Worry and Anxiety

Lastly, check out the website https://www.helpguide.org/ which has a plethora of articles and resources for all. If you sign up to receive emails from helpguide.org, it comes weekly with articles that are pertinent to what we are dealing with currently. You can also search their extensive list of past articles by topic.
Please reach out to EAP if you feel you need support. It was designed to HELP, to SUPPORT and to ASSIST!
