Sayville Wrestling Wins Suffolk County and League VI Tournament Titles

For the first time in Sayville Wrestling history, the program claimed both the Suffolk County Championship and League VI titles. This was the program’s first league title since 1983 and first Suffolk County Wrestling Championship in our school’s long history.  Sayville Golden Flashes coach Gary Pesko was a member of the '83 League Championship team. The team’s commitment, perseverance and individual performances helped push the program to the top of Suffolk County Wrestling in 2022.

138 - Yirdaw Rivera: Third Place 5-1 NYS Qualifier

145 - James Miller: dnp, 1-2

152 - Jamisen Colongione: Third Place, 5-1 NYS Qualifier

160 - Ken Lopresti, dnp, 2-2 

160 - Braden Ainslie: Second Place, 4-1 NYS Qualifier

172 - Mack Murtha: SUFFOLK CHAMPION, 4-0 NYS Qualifier

189 - Cody Lopresti: Sixth Place, 3-3 All County

215 - Carter White: dnp, 0-1

215 - David Christiansen: dnp, 2-2
