Golden Flashes Leadership Club cleaned up local beachfront to celebrate Earth Day.

Beach Clean-Up Crew

April 30, 2022

  • Thanks to the energized members of the Sayville High School Golden Flashes Leadership Club, the local beachfront got "spruced up" to celebrate Earth Day. On Saturday, April 30, the students, along with Jenn Wittman Cahill and Angela O'Hoppe, Club Advisors, assembled for the Beach Clean-Up activity. Beginning at Sayville Beach, they worked their way east, picking through Foster Beach as well as the Sayville Marina Park.

“Several large bags of garbage were collected,” reported Angela O'Hoppe, “including plastic bottles, used masks, and snack wrappers.  The clean-up made a visible impact on not only the park, but the students who felt the pride that came from cleaning it!”
