Senior Breakfast: A Time to Give Thanks for the Years together!

Senior Class of 2023 Breakfast
  • November 23, 2022

On Wednesday, November 23, the Class of 2023 celebrated the thirty-fifth annual Senior Breakfast in style. Under the auspices of Senor Class Advisors Kelly Lawrence and Kaitlin Shore, the decorating committee had transformed the large cafeteria into a festive venue resplendent with balloon centerpieces, purple and gold table cloths, and shiny streamers draped from the ceiling.

Aligned with the Thanksgiving season, the Senior Breakfast has traditionally given the graduating class time to bond and give thanks for their years together. This year was no different as the students mingled, with plates in hands, over a sumptuous breakfast buffet. Eggs, bacon, waffles, rolls, bagels, fruit, along with juice and coffee, prepared by the Sayville Food and Nutrition Department were served by parent volunteers from the Senior Class.

The satisfying meal was followed by the Senior Superlative Ceremony slideshow (see attachment), emceed by Nick Rampulla and Asher DeVerna.  As students were called up to receive either a crown or a sash they were cheered and applauded by their amused classmates.

Hailed as the most important meal of the day for providing sustenance and energy, the Senior Breakfast succeeds every year in energizing the spirits of all who attend and is a wonderful legacy established by one-time Senior Class Adviser Mrs. Marie Joost-Cox and former High School Principal Joseph Buderman.
