    Sayville Middle School Jazz Scores Big


    Congratulations to the Sayville Middle School Jazz Choir!

    The Middle School Jazz Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Cirillo and Mrs. Woerner, and accompanied by Mr. Diekmann, received a first place rating at the Music in the Parks festival at Dorney Park.  The select choir, made up of 6th, 7th, & 8th graders placed first in their division.  Allison Lynn, 7th grade, took an individual award for “Best Vocal Solo” in the all middle school choral division. The Jazz Choir competed with selections titled Is You Is, Or Is You Ain’t, Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, and Tuxedo Junction. 

    “On their annual trip to compete in the Music in the Parks festival,” Mrs.Cirillo added, “they shocked themselves with how well they performed. They placed First in their division, as well as Allison Lynn taking an individual recognition. Kristi and I are SO proud of them.They had the BEST day!”
