Liam at All-National Jazz Ensemble

  • Top Honors for

    Sayville Trombonist

Liam Harrison’s audition tape—his solo work on the trombone—must have blown the judges away!

The Sayville Senior was one of four tenor trombonist chosen nationally to perform in the All-National Jazz Ensemble with the All-National Mixed Chorus, Orchestra, and Band at the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) held in the Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, TN for the three-day festival that took place in late October.

As one of only nineteen performers in the entire Jazz Ensemble, Liam encountered a caliber of musicians, directors, and conductors who surpassed his every expectation.  Liam felt it was truly an honor to share this experience with the best in the nation.

In addition to his demo tape, Liam's performance last year in the All-State Jazz Ensemble, along with his updated resume, qualified him for this distinction.

Congratulations, Liam! (In the photos, Liam is sporting the “platinum blond faux hawk” look, a tradition for Sayville Soccer Playoffs.)
