A Cherry Tree for Cameron

  • A Tree for Cameron

To honor the memory of Cameron Riccomini, a Cherry Avenue Fifth-grader who passed away in November from a rare form of Cancer, the Cherry Avenue PTA collaborated with the Wellness Committee, headed by Jennifer Travaglia, on a “healing” project. They arranged for a weeping Cherry Tree to be planted in Cameron's memory.

“The Cherry Avenue 5th grade committee also donated a bench,” Jennifer Travaglia added, “which will be located toward the back of the school by the library in Cameron's memory.”

Principal Dr. John Stimmel and the entire Cherry Avenue community, along with Cameron’s parents and brother, gathered on the front lawn of the school for a beautiful spring Tree Dedication ceremony. Everyone knew in their hearts; this was something Cameron would have enjoyed.
