of 9-11

Eleven Years later

Eleven years ago, the Sixth-graders had only been born, the Seventh-graders were just one, and the Eighth-graders were mere toddlers. Yet, at Sayville Middle School, the quiet memorial activity of planting American flags on the front lawn on this 11^th anniversary of September 11^th ensured that our young generation would participate in remembering those who perished in 2001. Perfect weather permitted the entire Middle School community to commemorate 9-11 with dignity and honor as they planted each flag during lunch periods throughout the day.
