HOPE CLUB Delivers

At Sayville Middle School, the students in the Hope Club, under the direction of Mrs. Jean Galima and Mrs. Pamela Rooney (co-advisors for the club), showed tremendous commitment to the annual Food Drive so that local families could have a wonderful holiday season! 

Prior to the campaign, Hope Club members had visited all homerooms to both explain the fundraiser and solicit help donating nonperishable foods.  Each homeroom was given a bag, decorated with turkeys, for their Hope Club collections. As the donations accumulated, the Hope Club members, along with advisors Galima and Rooney, made labels on sorting tables to categorize the foods, organize the items, and expedite the boxing for presentation to the families. Community members in need of a Thanksgiving dinner were pleasantly surprised with the generosity of our students and their families, when the boxes were delivered by the Middle Student Assistance Counselor Mr. Paul Simonsen and other teacher volunteers.
