Acknowledging Mr. Gittler

  • FOR HIS CLASS ACT

    AS A POSITIVE FORCE

    IN SAYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICS

Congratulations go to Mr. Louis Gittler, Physics Teacher at Sayville High School, for recently receiving a commendation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Each year, MIT students are asked to share the name of a teacher who had been influential in their education. “It is a remarkable achievement,” writes MIT Dean of Admissions Stuart Schmill in a letter to Mr. Gittler, “and a great honor to change a life, so we congratulate you on being named this year by Tyler R. Nolan.”

“Most importantly,” Dean Schmill’s letter continues, “we thank you for the time, patience, expertise, love, discipline, and all the other qualities which have had such an important impact on your students. You do the work from which all of society benefits. Congratulations again on your excellent work! We at MIT are deeply grateful.”

We at Sayville School District share these sentiments about Mr. Gittler and are proud of the positive influences of our excellent staff members. Sayville also thanks such outstanding alumni, like Tyler, for furthering the work of our educators with noteworthy accomplishments.
