SEED Student Wins Prize
Lucky Seven, Perhaps?
SEED Student’s Drawing Wins Prize
While he was still in Mrs. Donnelly's Fourth-grade last year, Sunrise Drive SEED student Owen Ifferte submitted a drawing entry in the Kids’ Science Challenge: Sensational Sounds category. Owen drew an imaginative musical instrument that could do it all. His drawing was chosen for the Kid's Choice Awards Drawing Gallery and put up for popular vote on the photo gallery link at Kid Science Challenge website. Because entries with the most votes would win prizes, SEED teacher, Mrs. Cynthia Dwyer, encourage everyone to vote for #7- Owen’s drawing.
While being a lucky seven may not have had anything to do with it, Owen’s creative idea and talent represented by his drawing was showcased for all to see. Over the summer, Owen received good news that his drawing won a prize.
“We’ve had two winners in this contest,” Mrs. Dwyer reported with her good news about Owen, recalling that “Douglas Read, now in Sayville Middle School, was an honorable mention in the Super Stuff for Sports category last year.”
Congratulations to Owen for his wonderful achievement.
