In the Pink with Field Hockey

  • For their Third Annual Breast Cancer Game Day, Sayville Field Hockey Varsity and Junior Varsity did more than just play winning games against Connetquot. They "Played 4 a Cure" and raised $1,600 dollars which was a new record for this event.

This was accomplished through their invigorating teamwork, high spirits, and good fortune. No one could miss the pink jerseys, hair ribbons, and braids which the team members wore during both fleet-footed games, nor the pink ball or S marking the center of the field. Energized by their purpose, both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams played exciting games for their fans on the sidelines.

In addition, under an eye-catching tent, assorted baked goods iced in pink frosting or decorated with pink ribbons,(prepared by the team members and their families) ensured that no one missed the fundraising items that would draw crowds. Customers from the Football game against Bellport found their way to enjoy cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and tasty treats, while raffles for items from local merchants enticed visitors to take a chance for a worthy cause.

Congratulations to Sayville Field Hockey for delivering a great Pink Event!
