Policy Committee
Purpose
The Policy Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Education. The purpose of this committee is to support the Board and district leadership in maintaining a comprehensive, up-to-date, and legally compliant policy manual that reflects the district’s mission, values, and strategic direction.
Scope and Responsibilities
The Policy Committee serves in an advisory capacity, with the following scope and responsibilities:
- Review and recommend new or revised board policies in response to:
- Changes in federal or state laws or regulations
- Local needs and emerging issues
- Strategic goals of the district
- Establish and maintain a regular policy review cycle to ensure policies remain current, relevant, and consistent with best practices.
- Coordinate with legal counsel or policy consultants to ensure compliance and alignment with governance standards.
- Facilitate communication and transparency by preparing policy updates and recommendations for full Board consideration.

Meeting Schedule
The committee will meet every other month at 4:00 PM, immediately prior to regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed to address time-sensitive policy matters.
