The new website is aesthetically pleasing, functional, and easy to navigate. The website also features a new webpage named Mailing List where one could enter and submit their name and e-mail. This Mailing List will be used to inform the community on events, and also programs that have benefited from donated funds. Additionally, a webpage named Donate was added. This webpage will make a secure online donation easy through the function of PayPal or their bank card.
Several members of the Sayville Public Schools community have come together to form The Friends of Sayville Educational Foundation.
The Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable foundation registered in New York State, has been established to maintain and enhance opportunities for Sayville’s kindergarten through twelfth grade population of more than 2,500 students.
The Board of Directors, comprised of six Sayville High School graduates and led by high school principal Ronald Hoffer, has been engaged in an ongoing discussion with Sayville Superintendent Dr. Walter Schartner and members of the Board of Education to identify not only enhancements to district’s current educational offerings, but also programs which may be in jeopardy in the coming year. The Foundation’s initial project will be to enhance after-school opportunities in the district’s three elementary schools.
Foundation directors anticipate financial support from a variety of sources, and including a commitment of more than $14,000 per year donated by district employees through voluntary payroll deductions.
