2019-2020 Budget Results

Sayville School District would like to thank the community for your continued support of our children’s education.

HERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL BUDGET VOTE:

The School Budget passed 

Yes: 1,455 or 81%; No: 346 or 19%

Running unopposed Norm deVenau received 1,416 votes or 31% ; Norman de Venau was reelected to position of Board of Education trustee.

Running unopposed Maureen Dolan received 1,448 votes or 32%; Maureen Dolan was reelected to position of Board of Education trustee

Running for the open BOE seat:

JAMES  J. BERTSCH, JR.,  received 940 votes or 21%

JAIME HECHTMAN-ULLOA received 423  votes or 9%

KYLE VALENTINE received 283 votes or 6%

JAMES  J. BERTSCH, JR. was elected to the position of Board of Education Trustee.


Sayville Library Budget passed
Yes: 1,485 or 83%
No: 306 or 17%

LOUISA KIEFFER was elected to position of Library trustee with 1,414 votes or 100% , a position previously held by  JOHN WHITBREAD


Sayville Historical Society Budget passed
Yes: 1,532 or 86%
No: 248 or 14%


The 2019-2020 Proposed Spending Plan of $94,353,656 represents a 0.85% increase in the current school year, and a projected tax-rate increase of 2.34%, which is the Calculated Tax-Levy Cap of 2.34% therefore requiring a simple majority.
