School Board Approves 3.99 Percent Tax-Rate increase
Sayville School District’s
Proposed Tax-Rate Increase
is 3.99%.
April 2008
Sayville School District Administrators and Board of Education members recognize that our community is suffering from “Tax Payer Fatigue.”
As always, we are committed to giving our fellow Sayville Residents the most educationally sound and fiscally responsible Proposed Budget.
The Sayville BOARD OF EDUCATION has voted to reduce the original
(Phase One) proposed budget by $1,789,278, arriving at a 2008-2009 Proposed Budget of $75,989,590
The finalized Proposed Budget represents a 5.04% increase on the spending plan and a proposed tax-rate increase of 3.99%.
This year, with the promise of $1.7 million in Additional State Aid,
the Sayville BOE will apply the revenue to lower the tax-rate increase to 3.99%.
This 3.99% would mean that, for an average home assessed at $40,000, the projected tax-rate increase would be less than $20/month before any
STAR EXEMPTIONS.
