Independent Auditors Render “Highest Opinion” for the Fiscal Position of Sayville School District

Sayville School District remains in a “strong financial position,” according to the latest report prepared by the independent auditors Pappas & Company, CPA. During the November Board of Education meeting, the auditors publicly summarized their 2010-11 Audited Financial Statements and stated that Sayville School District received the highest opinion of “unqualified” for the leadership and careful oversight by both the Board of Education and the Administration over the District’s finances.

“This strong financial position will enable us to continue providing our students with many educational opportunities,” said Assistant Superintendent for Business John Belmonte. “Our long-range fiscal strategies have effectively utilized the District's available resources; and the use of our reserve and surplus funds have provided for minimal tax-rate increases over the last several years.” (Attached are documents for community review).
