Empty Bowls Fundraiser

On Wednesday, October 25, Sayville High School hosted their 16th annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser. 

For the price of a $10 ticket/donation, patrons were able to pick their own hand-crafted bowls created by Art Club members and enjoy a delicious meal of soups, salads and dessert provided by Sayville faculty, local families and local restaurants. 

Volunteers from the Sayville High School Art Club served dinner to attendees while members of The Sayville Quartet played beautiful music for everyone. 

Empty Bowls organizers Mr. John Verschure and Mr. Evan Hammer said that the event is intended to raise money and awareness about hunger and food insecurity in the area. 

Members of the Art Club will vote at their next meeting on where the money raised at the event will go. In the past, funds raised have gone towards the Sayville Food Pantry.
