Middle School Students Ace Mock Interviews
January 31, 2024
Sayville Middle School students in Mrs. Cacciatore’s eighth grade Family & Consumer Sciences classes recently completed their mock interviews for the fictitious Sayville Books, Music & More Store.
Before the interview, students prepared by filling out applications for their desired roles, learning how to tie a tie and practicing handshakes with their peers.
Students learned about the interview process and practiced, so they would be prepared for the interview conducted by not only their teachers from other subject areas, but also administrators from every level of the Sayville Schools organization.
On the big day, students were called over by their interviewer one at a time to have a mock interview.
“I want to know that Sayville students are going to be the best prepared candidates for any role,” said Mrs. Cacciatore. These skills will be valuable when they apply for their first real jobs as teenagers, with admissions at the colleges or universities they will apply to, and when they sit down to get hired for their dream job; they will be ready.”
Mrs. Cacciatore was also thankful to the Sayville staff.
“All the teachers and administrators who came down to help all volunteered their time to give these students an opportunity to go through the interviewing process,” she said. “I feel grateful to have the support of my colleagues in the building, as well as the administrators who took time out of their busy schedules to support our students.”
An extra special thank you to the mock interview volunteers: Dr. Marc Ferris, Amy DiMeola, Rhonda Meserole, Brian Decker, Ron Hoffer, Dr. Ryan Cox, Bryan Coon, Amy Thomas, Noemi Barczak, Jess Ciardullo, Cortney Culkin, Dawn Lloyd-Matthews, Kelly Raycroft, Colleen Restrepo, Lisa Scannell, Marie Amella-Pesko, Brenden Caroppoli, Lauren Cierski, Frank Decicco, Jeff Goodman, Vicki Graziano, Lisa Hartman, Dana Hofknecht, Lisa Krauth, Lindsey Loscalzo, Jodi Maurici, Shannon McCann, Tom Meier, Anthony Papalia, Kim Petrone, Pam Rooney, Erin Rymer, Janine Vogel, and Shannon Voyack.
