Physician Assistant Visits High School Anatomy Class

On Wednesday, November 8, high school students in Ms. Cindy Giannico’s anatomy class welcomed special guest Mary Giannico. 

A physician assistant with the New York Bariatric Group, Mary Giannico, taught the students how to do suturing with bananas, which is a good representation of human skin to practice with. 

Ms. Giannico’s visit coincided with the class learning about the integumentary system and how sutures minimize bleeding and reduce infection. 

“The students loved the whole experience and how hands-on the activity was,” said Ms. Cindy Giannico.
