R.I.S.E. Tech Students Meet With a Nuclear Technician

February 9, 2024

As part of their research project “Investigating Safer Designs and Methods of Nuclear Power”, three R.I.S.E. Tech research Students; Christopher Costa, Kyle Karpowicz and Bruno Cappiello met with Machinist Mate Nuclear First Class (MMN1) Marialana Kinter to provide guidance on the history of nuclear power, plant construction, nuclear submarines and types of reactors.

In preparation for their meeting, each student prepared a series of questions based on their current research to further their knowledge in specific areas of nuclear power.

By providing community outreach in S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Naval Petty Officer Kinter served as a great asset to the team in assisting them in navigating their research project.

The team was enthusiastic to learn and agreed that the experience was truly beneficial.
