Sayville Musicians Visit Sunrise Village

On Thursday, December 14, the middle school’s Jazz Choir and a clarinet trio from Mrs. Lattanzio’s band went to Sunrise Village in Sayville to spread a little holiday cheer with the senior community.

Under the direction of Mrs. Cirillo and Mrs. Woerner and accompanied on the piano by Mr. Diekmann the Jazz Choir sang a variety of carols for attendees.

The clarinet trio, under the direction of Mrs. Lattanzio also accompanied the choir on a few carols as well as performing some on their own.

After the performance, the residents of Sunrise Village shared homemade baked goods and a hot chocolate bar with the students.

“There were smiles on everyone’s faces,” said Mrs. Cirillo. “It was a beautiful gesture of community spirit for the holidays, and we can’t wait to go back next year.”
