Stimmel: New Superintendent

DR. JOHN E. STIMMEL HAS BEEN NAMED THE NEXT SAYVILLE SUPERINTENDENT

 

At the March 9, 2017 business meeting, the Sayville Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. John E. Stimmel as the next Superintendent of Sayville Public Schools, effective July 1, 2017, to replace Dr. Walter Schartner who is retiring after forty-four years in education.

 

Dr. Stimmel, an educator for thirty-four years, has been a strong advocate for students.  With over ten years in the classroom and twenty-four years of combined administrative experience which includes his positions in previous districts as elementary school assistant principal, elementary school principal, and middle school programmer,  Dr. Stimmel  joined Sayville School District fourteen years ago as the Cherry Avenue Elementary School Principal. In 2013, he advanced to the office of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. 

 

It is with great pride that Sayville School District congratulates Dr. Stimmel for his new appointment.

The next Superintendent, Dr. Stimmel is congratulated by soon-to-be retiring Dr. Schartner.
