Swimming Accolades for Girls Sayville/Bayport-Bluepoint Swimming & Diving Team

Congratulations to the girls on the Sayville/Bayport/Bluepoint Swimming & Diving team who received recognition at Monday’s Suffolk County Swim Coaches Awards Dinner.  The team had a great undefeated season, and won the League III Championships.  All-League awards were given to Ally Alliegro, Calista Tomasetti, Katie Kolar, and Melina Piervencenti.  All-County awards were given to Leighann Gensch, Patricia Shiebler, Meghan Caraher, Megan Donnelly, Megan Romano, and Mackenzie Thomas.

Mackenzie Thomas, Meghan Caraher, Megan Donnelly, and Leighann Gensch also received recognition for scoring at the NYS Championships, naming them All-State in the 200 Medley Relay.  In addition, these 4 girls broke the school record in both meters and yards, with a 2:03.41 and a 1:49.51, respectively.  In her individual event, Mackenzie Thomas also broke the school record in the 100 backstroke with a 57.69. Well done girls!!
