Welcoming a New Assistant Superintendent to Sayville

Sayville Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

Sayville Public School District has officially appointed Dr. Christine Criscione as the new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. With over twenty years of experience in education, Dr. Criscione began her career in New York City where she served as an elementary classroom teacher, then as a staff developer. After moving to Nassau BOCES where she worked on different assignments, Dr. Criscione went to Deer Park where she served as a building principal and district administrator.

Dr. John Stimmel, who will serve as Superintendent of Sayville Schools upon the retirement of Dr. Walter Schartner, has praised his replacement for the “energy, enthusiasm and creativity” she will bring “to this important office.” 

“As a side note,” incoming Superintendent Stimmel added, “Dr. Criscione has experience as the principal of a Teachers College Project school.  This background should prove very valuable as we move forward with Sayville’s own Teachers College experience.  Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Christine Criscione!”
