2017 Halloween Window Painting
A spirited tradition for Sayville Art students
On October 11th, when Sayville High School and Middle School Art students appeared with their paints, sponges, and brushes in Downtown Sayville for the annual Halloween Window painting, the mild weather was a wonderful bonus. It did not take long for all the students to show their Halloween spirit. Downtown was soon bustling with students decorating the windows of select merchants with images of ghouls, goblins, and ghosts, designed by the students and approved by the Art Department’s selection process, in time for Sayville’s Fall Festival.
Generations of Sayville Art students have been expressing themselves with the annual Halloween Window Painting tradition. Thanks to the partnership between the Kiwanis Club who have given their unwavering support with their donations of painting supplies and the Sayville Art department faculty who matched the students’ artworks with participating merchants, the Sayville Halloween Window Painting is a long-standing tradition enjoyed by the whole community.
