2017 Swimming Champs

Congratulations to the Sayville-Bayport/Bluepoint Girls Swimming and Diving Team for winning the League III Championship. “Many girls swam their best times,” Coach Nicole Mendez-Chicas reported, “and Meghan Caraher made States in the 100 breaststroke.”

 

Report from Coach Nicole Mendez-Chicas  of the Sayville/Bayport/Bluepoint Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving team about the Suffolk County Championships on November 3rd and 4th:

 

The Sayville/Bayport/Bluepoint Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving team was amazing at the Suffolk County Championships on November 3rd & 4th (see photo right) . 

 

Winning League III

 

 

Meghan Caraher, Megan Donnelly, Megan Romano, Katie Kolar, Kathryn Brady, Brenna Horan, Natalie Young, Madison Perez, Meghan Filosa, and Taryn Boesch made the county qualifying cut and participated in the meet. They placed  Fourth in the county, with many accolades. All the swimmers swam ‘out of their minds,’ with lifetime best times and the divers scored better than ever before.

 

Meghan Caraher made States in all four of her events, Megan Donnelly made States in five events, Brenna Horan made States in two relays, Kathryn Brady and Katie Kolar made States in a relay, and Taryn Boesch won a prestigious award for breaking the record for the highest amount of points scored by a first-year diver at the Suffolk County Championships. Great job girls!

photo) for representing Sayville at the New York State Swimming & Diving Championships in Ithaca this past weekend.  A special congratulations to Megan Donnelly for placing top 20 in the state to receive "All State" in both of her individual events.  Great swims girls!
