Retiring District Clerk Honored
Soon-to-be-retired Maribeth Demetres was honored at her last Board of Education meeting as District Clerk. Presenting her with flowers, the very grateful and humbled Board Members could not say enough good things about her qualities and character, both as a public servant and human being.
Norm deVenau Receives NYSSBA Lifetime-Achievement Award
On behalf of the New York State School Boards Association, Sayville BOE President John Verdone surprised BOE member Norm deVenau by presenting him with the NYSSBA Lifetime Achievement Award- Level 4. Norm deVenau is a long-term and active Sayville school-board member who continualluy strives to expand his governance knowledge and skills. In his capacity as a BOE member, Mr. deVenau serves both the children in Sayville and in Suffolk County. For his tireless dedication and commitment, he was honored with this NYSSBA's Recognition Program award.
