Sayville Students Experience Real-Time Q&A with Editors of Science World
In a 'one-on-one' meeting with the editors of Science World magazine, students in Ms. Stoll's Chemistry and Ms. LoCicero's AP Biology classes convened in the newly renovated HS Library for a Q&A Skyping session. “Science World is a wonderful resource, available to students online and in print, covering various unusual scientific topics,” explained High School teacher-librarian Ms. Finnerty who coordinated the session. This wonderful opportunity gave the Sayville students “the chance to meet the editors LIVE and IN PERSON” from the comfort of their own high school.
While many students' questions were submitted before the meeting—allowing the editors to prep their answers—students also called out 'on-the-spot' questions that were stimulated by their interaction.
Because it was such a “fun, informative way to learn,” Ms. Finnerty is now coordinating “a second Skyping session with Science World that physics students will attend after their AP exams in May!”
