CLASS of 2020 Celebrates Annual Tradition at Senior Breakfast
November 27, 2019
Thirty-two years ago Senior Class Adviser Mrs. Marie Joost-Cox and former High School Principal Joseph Buderman launched the annual Senior Breakfast to give the graduating class an opportunity to reconnect in a festive setting. This tradition, a privilege enjoyed by generations of Sayville students, continued for the Class of 2020 Sayville and was held on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
While the Seniors had a chance to commingle with mates and reflect about their years together—maybe even give thanks to those who have made their years memorable—they also feasted on a breakfast spread of scramble eggs, omelets, home fries, sausage, French Toast bacon, rolls, bagels, and muffins with coffee and juice provided by Parkville Plaza and served by volunteer Senior Class parents.
In addition to the good food, the highlight of the morning was a slide show of Senior Superlatives—recipients received hoots, applause, and purple sashes—that was all in good fun. Thanks go to the 2020 Senior Class Advisors Christian Doller and Alison Galea and their senior breakfast committee, students Mary Vermilyea (Senior Class President), Sarah Keane, and Natalie Young who worked on the preparations and decorations for the event.
