LICAB Awards January 2020
This academic year, Sayville School District in a partnership with Long Island Coalition Against Bullying launched a districtwide character-recognition program as a means of fighting bullying on Long Island. This new program brings social-emotional awareness into the schools and honors select K-12 students who “always do what is right with no expectation of reward.”
During the second LICAB awards ceremony, held on January 24, 2020, five more Sayville students received the LICAB Community-Leadership Award for demonstrating outstanding conduct in their daily lives. Student Services Director Jillian Makris and LICAB Executive Director Joe Salamone presided over the ceremony and gave out the scholarships.
Congratulations to the following students:
- Sayville High School: Terina Imperato nominated by Mrs. VanDorn
- Sayville Middle School: Daniel Tusso nominated by Mrs. Constantino
- Sunrise Elementary Drive: Cooper Susskind nominated by Mrs. Doris
- Lincoln Elementary: Khylee Boesch nominated by Elizabeth Bolger presented by Lincoln Avenue Principal Christine Carlson
(Cherry Avenue students were on a field trip; Award recipients will be recognized at the next ceremony.)
