Lincoln Avenue Hosts Breakfast for Veterans
To commemorate Veterans Day, the Lincoln Avenue students were encouraged to honor a veteran in their own families by inviting them to breakfast.
On Friday, November 8th, Lincoln Avenue Site Based Team, PTA, and Student Government hosted a lovely breakfast spread for over forty Veterans, including representatives from the local American Legion and VFW. The students and their Veterans enjoyed bagels, pastries, juice, and coffee in the specially decorated cafeteria. With the help of their music teacher, Mrs. Cirillo, the students had also prepared a musical presentation in which they sang God Bless America, performed America the Beautiful on bells, and sang the Armed Forces Medley.
This occasion to mingle and share time with Veterans in their families was an excellent opportunity to bring awareness for their heroic service. It also gave the students the chance to express their thanks in person.
