Works by Two Sayville HS Art Students Selected for "Long Island's Best Exhibit"

Art Department Chairperson Deb Urso had good news about two art Sayville students.

“Even though, as of today, the Heckscher Museum’s Long Island's Best Fine Art Exhibit has been postponed, we had two students selected into this elite show!  Each year, this arts-in-education program challenges students in grades nine through twelve to choose a work of art in the Museum as the starting point for their own creative exploration. Three hundred eighty-eight students from fifty-eight high schools submitted artwork, with one hundred selected for display in honor of the Museum’s 100th Anniversary in 2020!

“Congratulations to Jessica Kacinski (Ceramics Student/ John Verschure) and Samantha Kohn (AP Art student/Evan Hammer) for their acceptance into this elite Art exhibit. Congratulations to the girls and their respective teachers on this great accomplishment.”
