“A Bright Spot on a Crazy Year,” Sayville JV Baseball Team Makes History

June 2021

This was a very special season for the Junior Varsity Baseball team which went undefeated for the first time in team history.  Led by brothers Jack and Thomas Nielsen as coaches, the team finished with an overall record of 17-0.  Sayville was an offensive powerhouse, scoring 180 runs throughout the season.  Supported by strong pitching and defense, the team only gave up a total of 18 runs on the season.  It was an absolute team effort, with everyone on the team working hard and contributing.

"My brother and I had an absolute blast with this group boys,” said Head Coach Jack Nielsen, “and it was a great experience to see them work so hard, make improvements, and have so much fun over the course of the season.  It was a much-needed bright spot on a crazy year!  This a special group that I will never forget, and I am so happy the boys had such a positive experience this year."
