Lincoln Students Enjoy Oceans of Fun
Taking a Virtual Trip for Oceans of Fun
March 5 2021
Watching fish swim has often been touted as therapeutic, but watching big fish swim in an aquatic exhibit can be both calming and exhilarating. Thanks to internet accessibility, the children in Mrs. Kristin Gennari’s Second-grade class discovered the thrills of observing sea creatures when they recently took a virtual field trip to the Georgia Aquarium.
“After learning about animal habitats and adaptations,” Mrs. Gennari said, “the children were able to view animals in real time via the live cams. The children were most impressed with the playful beluga whales and the Ocean Voyager Gallery, which is home to whale sharks, manta rays, and thousands of other fascinating fish.” The Georgia Aquarium hosts "one of the largest single aquatic exhibits in the world," Mrs. Gennari added, "and the class was fascinated to learn about these magnificent animals! The children completed a directed drawing of their favorite ocean animal to end the day.”
