Sayville High School Earth Day Movers and Shakers Tackle Litter Clean-up
Sayville SWEEP participated in an Earth Day clean-up on April 22, Earth Day, as part of the Keep Islip Clean campaign. “SWEEP and Science National Honor Society members,” reported Sonja Anderson, High School Science Teacher and Advisor for both clubs, “cleaned up trash along Brook Street doing their part to make our local community and waterway cleaner.”
Among the many inspiring messages about saving the environment, the Sayville students were particularly motivated to do their part by the Jane Goodall Earth Day Quote: "You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."
