Design Engineers in %22Training%22 at Sayville High School

This week, Sayville High School Technology Department students in Mr. Chad Cross’ Design & Drawing for Production classes did not let the week-long remote-instruction get in the way of completing their assignment—to design and sketch a toy train for a 2- to 5-year-old child. These aspiring product-design engineers demonstrated what they learned about the six design guidelines (Function, Honesty, Safety, Appearance, Color, and Quality) while working virtually. After sketching a working drawing, their next step, Mr. Cross explained, will be to draw a more technical rendering of their designs.
