Social Studies Teacher Susan Hart - WBLI's Teacher of the Month for February.
Sayville High School Social Studies teacher and History Club Advisor Susan Hart has been chosen as WBLI's Teacher of the Month for February.
Every month WBLI honors one Top Teacher of the Month. This honor includes a $250 gift card from College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving to buy school supplies, a special Teacher-of-the-Month plaque, and an additional $250 gift card to treat themselves. The award recipients are also interviewed by and featured on Syke & MJ’s “Teacher Tuesday” which is held the last Tuesday of every month.
Social Studies colleague LynnAnn Perlin, who nominated Mrs. Hart for the award, reported, “We were both featured on an interview Tuesday, February 23. I thought that was some good cheer to share!”
Congratulations go to Mrs. Hart for receiving recognition for her exuberance, dedication, and tireless commitment to enliven history for her Sayville students, not only in the classroom, but with community-service activities with History Club.
WBLI noted Hart’s outstanding work in the classroom and for the community.
“From organizing luncheons for local veterans to setting up workshops and cultural dinners for students to help understand diversity, to even spending weekends taking her students on historical tours, Mrs. Hart is such a great educator!” the station said in a Facebook post.
