Sayville Middle School Bands Celebrate Memorial Day
Remembering Memorial Day at the Middle School
Sayville Middle School Librarian Pamela Rooney and Library Aid Martha Sant created a Memorial Day Display in the library showcase to ensure that our students remember why we celebrate this national holiday.
Sayville Middle School Band Director Kim Lattanzio prepared a three-minute video of the 7th and 8th grade band performing "Stars and Stripes Forever" John Philip Sousa and "God Bless America" Irving Berlin. "Memorial Day is such an important holiday to ALL Americans," Mrs. Lattanzio said. "Every year, in an annual parade, we pay tribute to all those individuals in the military who courageously gave their lives and who bravely fight today."
Although nothing can replace a parade in town, the Sayville Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Band, under the direction of Mrs. Kim Lattanzio, wanted to share the following video tribute. "We owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Thank you for your service," Mrs. Lattanzio concluded. To view the Memorial Day tribute, click on the image below.
